Welcome Bongo and nice meeting you! In reply to your question, "Why am I not able to reply to ANY threads?" it's evident you were able to reply to your own thread. It's equally evident I was (just now) able to post a reply to your thread.

Newly registered members have very sharp restrictions placed on them, with respect to what they can and can't do, until they've accumulated a total of 10 posts. In essence, we have virtually no more abilities than does a Guest user, until such time as we jump the hurdle and our restrictions are lifted.

Unfortunately, in an effort to screen-out SPAMMERS and other undesirable newly registered members who come with a nefarious agenda, the assumption is ALL new users (such as you and I) are guilty until proven innocent.

Welcome to our community, bongo and Mike! ;)

Yes, unfortunately we have to be a bit tough in the beginning. But 10 posts with some restrictions really isn't a lot to ask, and it also gives new members to find their feet. Feel free to contact a mod or admin directly if you have any more problems or questions.

To clarify, we only require that you post ONE post in the Introduction forum before posting elsewhere, and the only major feature that is restricted until you get to 10 posts is the ability to include links in your posts.

Have fun!
