Hello

What do you think about this website? Paid Curiosity

Seems like a innovative form of advertising, I mean people will be compelled

to look inside the boxes, what you think? If is the first of its kind, it might get some good popularity and then it might worth purchasing a box?

The only people who are going to "play" with this are those who have *way* too much time on their hands, and I can tell you as an active advertiser, that's not my target market!

Its totally sucky.

Moved to Computer Science because its about spam techiques (albeit voluntary! :hyper: )

Great way to go  yourself though,

You're welcome! I thought you'd *like* another thread on how to fleece Windoze users! :)

A fool and his click-throughs are soon parted, :cheer:

Nice way to make a quick US$80,000. But you better do it quick - advertisers won't be back for a second round.

Fatal flaw #1: The content of the boxes are supposedly static for 5 years - why would the audience come back after the first visit?

Fatal flaw #2: All images are preloaded in order to pop up on a scroll-over. It works fine for now, but once you have a few advertisers, the page is gonna take forever to open up, chasing possible clients with lower speed connections away.

Fatal flaw #3: The colour scheme sucks.

Fatal flaw #4: The jokes are horrible.

But I have to give it to you; innovation in any field is a good thing, even if only to suck 80 grand from advertisers. But like I said, in the current format, don't be expecting a lot of return business (although that will only bother you in five years' time, right?).

oh please, there are so many wonderful ways to do it, i've come up with good ones, and if i had no moral beliefs, i would be so much richer then now, its not even funny. But look at the best fleece for windows users ever, that is microsoft convincing people to buy windows in the first place..... *shakes his head*

Oh well people will learn Buffs, people will learn  (and i mean Buffs as in a jokingly cute Buffy :) )

this concept is even more lame then that website where companies paid money for physical space on the website, like $1000 for a square inch or something stupid.....

Paid Curiosity, you are a Rip Off and should be known as such!!!

I kinda like it – all the annoying scrollover adds in one place I have to chose to visit, rather than between me and what I want to see.

It’s technically awful. However, at US $200 a box, a 27-year-old Romanian who spells “expect” “espect”, has grossed $1,400 just for getting hosted and putting together a pretty little logo of a box with a ribbon. The name “PaidCuriosity” scans well – especially for the invention of an english spelling-challenged Romanian.

I’m curious to see how many “boxes” Marias sells in the coming months and years, and know what his costs to keep the site for 5 years are. It looks like he’s been holding at 7/40 boxes sold since 4/2007, which does not bode well the future of the enterprise, but we might all be surprised to see Marias make a tidy little profit.
