Hi there everyone,

I'll give a little bit of information about who I am, what I do and what brought me to this site.

I'm a 23 year old living in Toronto, Canada. I'm currently in my third year at the University of Toronto studying physical anthropology. I'm sure most of you are familiar with that discipline, but for those who aren't it's a division of anthropology that focuses on the biological aspects of humans. Specifically, we look at primatology (primate behaviour and structure), osteology (bone structure and forensics), paleoanthropology (evolution of human by studying ascestral species) and human biology. I just recently switched to this major after previously majoring in history and political science with a fascination on the Renaissance era. History is actually my other major. So it's a nice balance between the arts and the sciences. I try to be as well-rounded as I can in my life.

While I don't study it at school, I like to keep relatively updated on astronomy. The recent landing on Titan, for example, I've found to be incredibly fascinating

When I'm not at school, I work as an administration assistant at one of Toronto's top boutique gyms. Health and fitness has become a strong presence in my life over the last couple years. Eventually personal training is an avenue I'd like to pursue on the side. Likewise with investing in real estate and stocks. Again, I'm all about the balance and being well-rounded!

As for what brought me to this site. Creationism has been brought up in my classes several times this year. Being an amateur anthropologist, I find it fascinating to know what causes certain beliefs; why certain people believe the things they do. I went around looking for sites to see what creationists or strict christians believe and what their justifications were. Eventually I came across a link to a forum that linked to this site. After looking at some of the different forums on this site I figured it would be a great opportunity to speak to some people who hold similar interests as I do in terms of these subjects. I think the potential to learn something/keep on top of scientific breakthroughs is pretty high.

Thanks for having me.

Good to have you here! Your interests are very much aligned with my own, though your formal studies of anthro and primatolgy must have provided you with a lot more recent information than my own. So, if you see anything in my posts that needs correcting, please have at it!

I have a continually growing fascination with neuroscience and the search for functions in the brain that describe how and why we behave as we do. Is this a part of your studies, too? Creationism and evolution are a major center of focus for my thinking, and tracking them down in the brain seems like it's within reach, or will be very soon.

I look forward to your posts.

Thanks, it's always good to see someone with similar questions that I have. Allows for discussions to get really in depth I find.

I've done a little bit of studying on behaviour. Mainly in primatology. Specifically in regards to neuroscience, however, I haven't really studied too much about it. We've discussed the basics of brain structure (ie. what Broca's area does). Perhaps I'll get the chance to learn more about it on this site. I'll be honest, though. I just recently switched to this major. So it won't be until next year that I hope to have some incredible in-depth ideas to present forward. I'm learning the basics of physical anthropology. A little bit of everything, so to speak. What I have learned so far, however, is incredibly fascinating and I hope I'll be able to add to some great discussions regarding this field. As well as many others.

I dabble in a lot of things out of school amoung them are metaphysics, biotechnology-Genetic engineering ,flux ,and the theories of the space/time continuam. I am a dreamer so i really want to learn these things for more than the benifits of knowledge.I have joined this site in the pursuit of a vast wealth of knowledge and to meet and discuss scientific topics with people that I feel I have intellectual connections with.It is nice to meet you!
