C1ay Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Here's a clip http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2457070140046732828 of "Who wants to be a millionaire" in France. The question is "What rotates around the Earth?" A. The moonB. The sunC. MarsD. Venus The man polls the audience and 56% vote for the sun compared to 42% for the moon. Still unsure the man thinks about using his 50/50 but ultimately decides to go with the audience. How can there be som many people that believe the Sun revolves around the Earth? Quote
Buffy Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 This may migrate outside the US, but there's currently a hot game show here called "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?" where clueless parents match wits with 10-year-olds on various Elementary School subjects. Its horrifying how little these parents (or on one episode, a high school teacher and a rocket scientist) know on these kinds of topics. Fortunately, if they quit or miss too many questions, our favorite Redneck host Jeff Foxworthy makes them say: "I am NOT smarter than a fifth grader!" I'm still against Literacy Tests as a requirement for voting rights... Any idiot ought to be able to vote, and they often do,Buffy Quote
Racoon Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 How comforting to know Americans aren't the only industrialized nation to have a bunch of idiots within their "respective" population. :confused:Just the most publicized idiots. Quote
