I just started reading a book by Bill Bryson titled A Short History of Nearly Everything. (ISBN: 076790818X).

A very interesting read so far. A bit of a science history book coupled with a bit of humor. ALthough ther author is actually a travel author, he did spend a great deal of time researching and interviewing some of our great minds of today to discuss the relevance and importance of many of the scientific breakthroughs and theories of the past and present.

A bit of everything in it so far, from the origins of the universe, Earth, life, and civilization.

Pick it up if you can.

Yeah, I read that one. My mistake was to try to read all of it in three days because I had to review it on national radio. It became a VERY tedious exercise. But I agree, it is a very good book.
