Jim Colyer Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I wrote an environmental song called Save The Planet. I need a signed artist to record it for a label. Who can help? http://www.jimcolyer.com/music/ SAVE THE PLANET We're floating on a grain of sand in the vastness of spaceIf future generations are going to inherit this placeWe've got to Save The PlanetDo something while there's still timeSave The PlanetThis earth is yours and mine The tropical rainforest is disappearing more everydayWe'll never replace it.. We'd better not burn it awaySave The PlanetThe wonders of nature are freeSave The PlanetHave you ever planet a tree? If the skies are blueAnd the oceans tooIsn't this a better home for me and you?If the air is clean And the land is greenWouldn't you like to be part of this lovely scene? I'm thinking of the animals that once roamed the African plainTheir numbers have dwindled, and pretty soon none will remainSave The PlanetDo something while there's still timeSave the PlanetThis earth is yours and mine Save The PlanetThe wonders of nature are freeSave The PlanetHave you ever planted a tree? Jim Colyer Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 I found a singer for Save The Planet. Her name is Melissa DuVall, and she lives here in Nashville. We will take the song to Hard Rock Cafe because HRC uses "Save The Planet" as its logo. I believe music still influences. We can contribute to global management and promote world peace. BEAKER Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Here's part of my song: "DOWN":thumbs_do We got a hole in the O-zone layer,we got eroding soil. We're killing all our ocean lifeand filing our seas with oil. we're using up our energyand trying to tap the sunHow long before we destroy, this world that God begun?! We're going -DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN! There's no escape from this Earthly disaster;unless you know the master; We're going -DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN;DOWN, DOWN, DOWN! Quote

Jim Colyer Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 Not spam....I wrote 400 songs. Save The Planet is the most important. We have to get beyond the cynicism and defeatism of 9/11....Jim Quote

BEAKER Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 We were destroying the earth long before 9/11 Quote
Jim Colyer Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 What I am saying is, we have to conserve and make the best use of natural resources, replacing them as we go with an eye on the long term when alternate forms of energy will replace depleted fossil fuels. I am a songwriter. Save The Planet is one of 400 songs I have written, but I believe its message is important. I will record it May 30 here in Nashville and put the MP3 on my site. CraigD Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Nice song. Very polished recording. The Earth need more like you, Jim Colyer. And more like Neil Young, of course, and songs like “Be the Rain”. My best wishes to you and your music. Quote

Is that you singin' Jim or a hire? I bolded a typo in your original lyrics post; it's a poetic turn of phrase as it is though. :D ___Have to give you credit for even remembering you posted this 5 months ago! I barely remember 5 hours. :hihi: Quote
Jim Colyer Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 Thanks! That's me singing Save The Planet. Melissa's producers are shopping her to record labels and did not want her singing for anyone else, so I did the vocal. Quote
