Mercedes Benzene Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Okay, so for high school seniors, this is about the time that the search for colleges ends, and the applications begin. I think it's safe to say that this is one of the most stressful times in a high-schooler's life. So here's the thread to make things easier. Feel free to share your current experiences and struggles OR If you've already been through all this stuff feel free to share your past experiences to help those who are going through it right now. I'm about 50% done with all my apps. and my final list of colleges I'm applying to:Boston College Northeastern UniversityUniversity of Massachusetts -- AmherstYale UniversityUniversity of ConnecticutUniversity of Maryland -- Baltimore Campus and College ParkGerogetown UniversitySeton Hall University I'll post updates as things happen, and I ask others to do the same.::breathe:: It will all be over soon. TheFaithfulStone Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I remember my first college tussle. On a serious note. For gods sakes go where you want. Take out the loan and go where you want. It's ludicrously expensive. But how much does a lifetime of "if only's..." cost you? TFS Quote
Buffy Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 For gods sakes go where you want.Seconding, thirding and fourthing this one! I won't even nag you about not applying to any west coast schools as long as your favorite is on that list and that you *go for it*! Even if you don't get in to that one, plan on doing a transfer, which is a heck of a lot easier than getting in the first year. You are forever the college you choose! Go Bears! :xparty:Buffy Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 Take my word for it. I love all the colleges up there. My favorite is probably University of Connecticut, and I fell in love the first time I ever visited there. ...plus, being give $2.8 billion by the state to upgrade/completely build from scratch many of their facilities is a bonus! The chemistry building is to die for! Mercedes Benzene Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 UPDATE:In the last week, I've been accepted to both UConn and UMass-Amherst. I won't find out about the others I applied to until early this spring, but I've pretty much settled on UConn. Anyone else get any acceptances? P.S. It's not so much of a tussle anymore. Quote
