As you may or may not know, one of the bigger contributions of Apple to the world of computing was the invention of a mouse. As far as I'm concerned, apple still defines the future of mice to this day, and i didn't even realize it until i got my mighty mouse, it is by far the most craziest mouse i have ever owned. Now i was never a fan of the one button mouse design, and finally apple got smart and realized that one button sucks, so even though the design still portrays the one button mouse look, in reality the mouse detects 3 clicks, squeezing from the sides as well as having the most comfortable scrolling wheel i have ever had, remember the track pads in old laptops? well its like a track pad, this thing is a tiny one fingertip use deal that scrolls 360 degrees around, its a little weird at first, but its so awesome and easy to scroll with it, it's just amazing :phones: Finally apple uses a sleek and weird design for the laser portion of the mouse (no its not a visible laser like in most recent laser products, but this is the first to use 2 lenses, i suspect one is the emitter lens to properly focus the stream, and a collector lens that is a bigger lens aimed at getting more light.

I think apple is yet again defining the next trend in mouse design, now all they have to do is work on ergonomics, while the mighty mouse is ok for my use, i can see people finding it uncomfortable, especialy if they are used to a Logitech products.

If you were thinking about getting one for your Mac, dont, it's an awesome mouse, and though pricey, will run you about 60-70 bucks, so well worth it :)

Oh in case you haven't noticed its fairly rare that i actually give products positive feedback... make your own decisions with that...

FWIW the mighty mouse was shelved after 2 days. It is over-sensitive to clicks on the side, and even though it requires you to click on *both* sides to open Expose, it does so even if you barely touch it with both fingers. And navigating the web with it is a joyride of unexpected jumps back and forth as you inadvertently hit the wrong spots.

So I still use my trusted M$ optical mouse.

I had a similar experience. I found (after experimentation) I couldn't reliably right click without lifting my left finger off the mouse. This was annoying enough that I switched to a cheap optical mouse.

lol i don't have that problem at all, mouse works great, tormod, all you had to do in mac is go and change the sensitivity  i have a logitech mx revolution for my laptop, and that is a cool mouse, just that the scroll speed was so weirdly slow, like it skipped or something, so i got this, and so far i absolutely love it! by the way, i dont know what you guys are talkng about when you say barely touch to click, i have to press down and click the mouse pretty hard, it makes a propper clickedy sound.

are you guys thinking of the old apple mice?

Nope, certainly the mighty mouse. I talked to some other people who have the same problem, it seems pretty common that to consistently get a right click, you have to lift your index finger off the left side of the mouse. Apple suggested switching secondary click to the trackball thingy, but I just use a different mouse.

rofl Tormod. (i like the moran shirt, wouldn't refer to alex moran, one of the best guitar/bass players in the world, would it?)

hmm, i dunno, dont have any problems and right now i can't even conceive having one, but hey if you guys claim it, i have no reason to despute that some people may have a problem...

Oh *now* its clear!

It's the 'do dude!

All that spikey stuff electrodynamically lifts your left finger up before you right click!

But I'm not gonna do *that* to my hair just to be able to use a Mighty Mouse! :phones:

For the record, my Mac is hidden behind a logitech powered KVM switch...but my mom does like her Mighty Mouse on her MacBook Pro!

Mousy hair,

Buffy
