Why is there no contact with ET civs as yet ?

The Drake equation was developed in 1961 based upon technical knowledge known at that time. The Drake equation made a lot of assumptions.

SETI is scanning the sky for primitive type radio emissions, types that we are gradually eliminating and will not be using in just a few decades.

 

We are actually transmitting more information toward space than people realize, but these emissions are not what SETI is trying to detect. SETI is doing it wrong, no wonder they can't detect anything.

Maybe if the ET's were working off an absolute time system, (obviously if you had a multi galactic civilisation you would have to contain relativity in some way so that your civilisation itself would have an effective communications system), maybe a system based on timed pulses that would provide absolute time to any very fast space craft travelling along your civilisations superhighways.

 

The solution is simple, look for multi galactic traffic light systems and lane markers and you'll find those ET's, if they do exist. If you could find a timed series of lights the timing would also tell you the speed of the ET's spaceships.

 

At least that's what I think you should do if you want an effective multi galactic communications system, or to identify one.

They could already be here but it could be that all our noise has made them wary of direct contact with humanity, just as noisy children frighten off old people because age makes their reception devices (senses) hypersensitive, when compared with hyperactive youth (young civilization). In fact the Autistic are hypersensitive to noise in a lot of cases, so maybe they are the aliens and here!

 

LittleBang, you could be right - this would create a ghosting effect of people thinking they sensed something but by the time they responded, the phenomena creator would have ceased to exist, leaving only a shadow of their former selves as a clue
