Hello everyone! I guess I am supposed to introduce myself to you here... well, I am a first year teacher in Springfield, Oregon. I earned a bachelors degree in physics, and somehow I wound up teaching middle schoolers earth science. I absolutely love the kids! However, I am struggling with the earth science material, well, not the material itself, just the resources, I could teach physics, or physical science and have no problems at all, but alas, I am not. Earth science is really fun for the kids and me and we are doing the best we can.

For me personally, my own science interests have evolved from quantum mechanics to quantum computing to particle physics, and I have just recently become enthused with the philosophy side of science. I love to explore the can we versus should we dilemmas, as well as at what point does science become it's own religion? These are questions that I have become obsessed with and love to hear other people's CONTROLLED comments on the issues. I just don't like to debate, or even visit with people who think that their way is the only way, or who believe that if you don't agree with them, then you're wrong.

well, that's an intro to me, maybe it's a little long, but there it is, enjoy

Welcome zadler!

While you'll certainly find debates here, this is a moderated forum and we make at least a modest attempt to keep things from getting completely out of hand, so I hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us do!

How did you find us?

Have fun!

Buffy
