Buffy Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Well there's nothing in any of the links you provided other than incoherent rambling. This is a *discussion* forum, and simply posting links is at the very least considered bad etiquette around here. If you'd like to actually describe your claims, some folks around here might be interested in engaging you. You might want to take a look at our rules too when you have a moment. Buffy Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 For those of you who are interested but just don't want to copy and paste the link, here's what the Amazing Randi is *actually* saying:The burden of the challenge is the work and time required to handle the long-drawn-out negotiations with persons who – frankly – are frequently not resident in a real world. I say that in an understanding tone, since it’s evident that they do not see the need for comprehensive and carefully-designed testing procedures, and we’ve had to walk them through the process of developing a view of how Nature actually works, and how they may have misunderstood that complicated process....The bottom line is: The JREF has made its point – week after week – for 10 years, and now we have two years until this generous offer will end. We have to ask: how long are we expected to wait for a miracle? So if Mr. dmabus or anyone else has a claim, the JR Challenge is still open for the next *two years*. Thus it makes no sense to argue that a its being shut down specifically to avoid a claim: there's still lots of time to prove yourself! All we have to do is to look and see how it does it, Buffy Quote
CraigD Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I WON THE CHALLENGEHow did you win the JREF One Million Dollar Paranormal challenge? Please summarize your demonstration. The challenge requires that you demonstrate a paranormal ability in a series of controlled tests, following a specific, agreed-upon protocol. For example a simple protocol is acceptable:Tester picks a 10 digit number A; out of sight of Claimant, Tester writes number; Claimant provides 10 digit number B; if A=B, test is successful. The following protocol is not:Claimant claims that a prediction was made 2 years ago, and what it predicted occurred 1 year ago. This latter protocol is not testable, because it doesn’t provide a clearly defined, tester-verifiable success/failure criteria. Your (davidmabus) posts at in CFI’s “Nostradamus Prophesy” thread don’t satisfy the criteria required by the JREF challenge. Your posts at this forum violate the site rules. If you don’t conform to the rules by supporting your claims, your posting privileges at hypography will almost certainly be suspended. Quote
