M.J. Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Not too long ago, my chemistry teacher told us about this article that came out in the newspaper how they want to rename evolution to "biological changes over time" because its a huge issue. I would like to hear people's opinion on this. What if that change did happen? Are people these days so ignorant that refuse to be open minded? I think it's none sense. Eventually, "evolution" is going to become some forbidden word or something. Viva le Evolution! Turtle 1 Quote
Buffy Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 It does not matter what you call it: the objection is to "changes over time" as opposed to "God created man in His image." If man was not always the way he is now then God is in error, which is sacrilege. Trying to relabel it is not going to make the conflict go away.... It is nor hand, nor foot, nor arm, nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man. O, be some other name! :shrug:Buffy Quote
mynah Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Trying to relabel it is not going to make the conflict go away.... ...But it will impose on those of us who write on the subject the linguistic horror of having to replace "evolve" with "change biologically over time"... Quote
Buffy Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 ...so true. We were all so happy when Prince went back to Prince... Must be something in the water they drink, :evil:Buffy Quote
