pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 referring to someone as a cartoon is demeaning.Do you think religion is perfect and helpful? Do you not read the papers or watch the news? there are serious issues going on right now because of religion. People are dying daily in the name of god over a piece of land. Quote
litespeed Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Pamela First, about cartoons. Charles could very well be playing a False Flag operation. He is so far off-the-wall that he encourages the other side. As for Gahza? Islamic maniacs are entirely the issue. And I have previously pointed out Western Civilization does not bow towards Mecca for the simple reason the Roman Catholic Church prevented it. Quote
pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 yes, I painstakingly listened through a few of his sermons, and hence my judgement against him. And I imagine, a few Christians out there may refer to him as a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is certainly not to be trusted, and quite frankly, I do not want him any where near our government, much less our president Quote
Moontanman Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 These people have been operating under the radar for a long time, I've been approached by them they exist and they are getting stronger with each incarnation of their brand of theism. charles brough Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 It is nice to think of religions just going away by themselves when they get too old, but they don't. The liberalizing of Christianity you observe is just part of the current liberal backlash from the long, 40 years tend so far of Religious Right growth. When the next wave of conservatism comes, it will be worse than before. I have seen these phases come and go. It is like the stock market, there are ups and downs in a long trend.:hihi:--------------------------------------------------------------So, CB is dangerous! I hope no one gets hurt reading my posts! Wait until the next Republican Administration follows Obama's. Then they get another Bush-like character in and it gets a real hold on the voting machines. They'll then be able to impose that old religiousness on you; and your grand children's education will consist of Bible Stories. Quote

The Roman Catholic Church and it's basic corruption of and it's changes to the word of God was the catalyst for the formation of Islam. The Catholic church started the war between Islam and Christianity, the Catholic church started the crusades, they started the aggression, they tried their best to exterminate Jews, the Catholic church is so far from innocence it's not even in the same universe. I really need to know this. Is this something you actually believe, or are you just spoofing me? I once had a girlfriend who believed India was in South America. Right now, your in that catagory. pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Litespeed, you need to make your point without name calling; not only is it NOT nice, but you are breaking the rules. Quote
litespeed Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Pamela I am a Republican, and Obama does not frighten me. You should not be frightened either. This nation has persevered for more the 200 years under far more dire circumstances then what faces us now. IMHO, civilizations that are not founded on personalized conquest (Alexander the Great, Ghenis Khan, Adolp Hitler etc) are very resilient. Ours is not one of those. Continuous, uninterupted presidential elections since George Washington his very own self. War Between The States included. Cheer UP bucky! Pamela - You wrote: "Litespeed, you need to make your point without name calling; not only is it NOT nice, but you are breaking the rules." I have never claimed to be a nice person. Further, I have been banned for breaking the rules on so many occassions in the last 15 years that, in some circles, I have been called "Legendary". I insist, however, that those I call names such a nincompoop have richly earned the epitapth. For instance, anyone who states Islam is the result of Roman Catholic Corruption. Puuleeezzz... Its late and the sun is setting. Time for me to find a nice dark crypt..... Quote
pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Litespeed, I am not afraid of Obama, I am worried about the influence that Warren may have. A pastor that has sold more books than the bible, it subject for suspicion. People like him, have a way feeding in their ideologies, that spread like a cancer. I am a firm proponent of keeping Church and State separate, so I am watchful when these types start congregating around influential figures. I believe Moontanman was referring to the hatred/war mongering from some Islamic factions, and not the origin of Islam. You almost sound proud of being not nice, and that is not becoming of a person who appears to be intelligent Quote

Sticks and stones dude, sticks and stones, exactly what attack was the crusades a counter attack for? Here is what wikki has to say about the roots of Islam, Islam was brought about to return monotheism to the people who has been decived by the polytheism of the Catholic Church. Muslims consider Christianity to be polytheism. Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad, God's final prophet, through the angel Gabriel, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (words and deeds of Muhammad) as the fundamental sources of Islam.[5] They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Islamic tradition holds that Jews and Christians distorted the revelations God gave to these prophets by either altering the text, introducing a false interpretation, or both.[6] Islam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote
pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Moontanman, Litespeed is referring to the origin of Islam that started with Abraham. He bore a son Ishmael and he and his mother were cast out. Hence Abraham was called the father of many nations. It was from here that the Islamic religion arose, as an offshoot of Judaism. Quote

No, it was the Aramaic people that originated there not Islam, Islam originated in the 7th century, before that Arabs were Either Pagans, Jews or Christians. Quote
pamela Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Origin of the people would have been the correct statement-:) "The problem is that the Qur'an teaches that Ishmael was the child of promise (Sura 19:54; compare Sura 37:83-109 with Genesis 22:1-19) and so Muslims believe that God's covenant promises were meant for Ishmael's descendants, not Isaac's. Muhammad descended from Ishmael and so Muslims seek to lay claim to these covenant promises, namely the land of Palestine. Since Israel's U.N.-sanctioned return to Palestine in 1948 there has been unceasing hostility between Israel and her Arab neighbors, with major armed conflicts in 1948-49, 1956, 1967, 1973-74, and 1982. That Israel remains today is a miracle in-and-of itself. " http://http://www.allaboutreligion.org/origin-of-islam.htm Quote
