Hello from Lily in Minnesota

I recently stumbled upon your site and was very impressed with the range of interests and the quality of the answers given. Initially I was interested in the acronymn TNT - having used it all my life, knowing it meant a stick of dynamite and knowing little else. Such is the level of my interest in most things. I'm no scholar - long past the age of formal education - but forever discovering how pathetically simple my understanding of most things is. I'll never be an expert at anything, but everything that crosses my path causes me to pause and say, "hmmmmm". Some wise person once said, (& I agree) "the more I know-the more I know I don't know".

 

When I went to school, girls were openly and covertly discouraged from science classes. I wish I could have learned more back then, so I'm only now starting to open the door...the room is HUGE...and I'm often backing up!

:) Thanks, Reason, that's very kind of you. I've already enjoyed the posts about the "Hole in the Earth" and am looking forward to lingering a lot! Among the many interesting topics here, I should be able to keep this curious old brain busy for a long, long time. Since I'm definately NOT "Smarter than a Fifth Grader" , I'd better get crackin. Father-Time must be looping around infinity's endless corridor laughing at my slowness! :D
