REASON Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 i had to comb my hair. :) do you listen to rush limbaugh? Is this a litmus test? Only to keep up with his latest efforts to distort reality. Mega dittos. You're a great American. I know most of the code. :) And all of this has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Quote
Zythryn Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Well goku, if you stick around to discuss this, I would be happy to discuss your position that: science proves evolution to be impossibleFirst, I am not aware of any scientific theory that has surplanted the theory of evolution. If you are, please let me know, I would be fascinated to learn more.As for life being created from non life, not only is it proven, it has been done in a lab.Scientists have taken a mix of gases, water and other elements believed to compose the early earth's atmosphere. Non of these elements of the mix were alive. They then introduced electricity and in a short time, amino acids began to form. I am not sure how long this experiment went on.If you are truly interested in this, I will be happy to locate a reference to the original lab work. Here is a link, really fascinating stuff:)A Science Odyssey: People and Discoveries: Amino acids are created in laboratory Quote
C1ay Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 science proves evolution to be impossible. Why do you supposed they need to grow a new flu vaccine each year? Is it just a scam to make think the flu is changing each year? Quote

CraigD Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 do you listen to rush limbaugh? On rare occasion, yes. When traveling outside of the range of my car or carried radio’s preset stations, and scanning for stations, I occasionally bump into his show, and listen. The few shows I’ve heard, though I did not carefully analyze them, left me with the impression that he has a poor and superficial understanding of most topics, and has unfortunately learned to pander to irrational, emotionally labile sentiments of a segment of society troubled with feelings of disenfranchisement. Limbaugh’s 2003 admission of drug abuse and 2006 arrest, prosecution, and rehabilitation plead-deal lowered my opinion of him, and of people who maintain that he is un-hypocritical. Having condemned lenient treatment of illegal market drug users, Limbaugh sought lenient treatment for himself when he became addicted to oxycodone and hydrocodone, and began obtaining them illegally. My opinion of the ACLU, an organization I understand Limbaugh has verbally attacked, was raised by their support of Linbaugh in opposing the efforts of state prosecutors to obtain a court ruling allowing seized medical records to be used as evidence against him. My opinion of US Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas was lowered by his 1994 hosting and officiating at Linbaugh’s 3rd marriage, despite Thomas being an avowed Roman Catholic, and former Catholic seminary student. In short, I believe Limbaugh is a self-serving hypocrite who promotes disagreement and hate. What is your opinion of Limbaugh, goku? Are you aware of any sound scientific data and analysis published by him in the field of biology? Quote

goku Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Why do you supposed they need to grow a new flu vaccine each year? Is it just a scam to make think the flu is changing each year? it wouldn't be changing if they hadn't of started the stupid vacines.bad idea, they should have never started that. it's still called the flu right? InfiniteNow Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 it wouldn't be changing if they hadn't of started the stupid vacines.bad idea, they should have never started that. Nonsense. The point you are trying to make is that it wouldn't be changing as quickly, and/or it would face a different set of selection pressures. However, to suggest that it wouldn't be changing had humans not begun using vaccines is completely false. Also, implicit in your post is a recognition that things evolve, hence your own personal position isn't even internally consistent. Give me a break. Quote
