paigetheoracle Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I personally believe intelligence is presence at inception and continuity overall ('Only Connect...' CS Forester). Silence and stillness allows thought and perception as noise and movement destroys the ability to concentrate ('The Man from Pollack' and the ruination of a work by was it Shelley or Browning?). 24 hour Party people are trying to avoid thinking and being responsible. We all do it to some degree but great thought requires great patience and great concentration, to connect the parts of the puzzle that makes sense of reality. Settlers have to 'be' present to settle and this explains meditation as individual calming of the spirit (see Zen/ Eastern Wisdom). It also I believe explains why Asperger Syndrome sufferers are 'home loving' and hypersensitive to external distraction. Quote
