Barra Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Hello! I'm from near Sydney, Nova Scotia... "The Other Sydney" I am an Engineer, and live in the woods. Lots of water, but not very much cleared land. I am interested in Terra Preta and charcoal, firstly as a way to build up soil for a garden, and secondly, in the gasification of forest waste to generate power and heat. Terra Preta is fascinating, and I would like to fully understand it, and the growing paradigm associated with it. Best wishes, Barra Quote
Tormod Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Welcome to Hypography! Sounds like you live in an interesting place. :) Quote
alexander Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Welcome to Hypography. Yeah, the place does sound pretty cool. You have some pictures? Traditionally,Welcome to Hypography, the only place you know where the only thing we know about Nova Scotia is:It is the second smallest and second most densely populated Canadian province located on the eastern coast of Canada on the Nova Scotia peninsula. Founded by the French in early 1600s it's main source of economy is fish (if i'm not mistaken, largely Cod). Directly translated from Latin, "nova scotia" means new Scotland. If i am also not mistaken, the government type is parliamentary democracy with the head of state of Canada (Queen Elizabeth II) is the head of the executive council. Primary language is English, not closely followed by French. And just because i have a friend who is largely into jewelry, the official gem stone is Agate... Also there was a really cool X-Files episode where they traveled to Nova Scotia i believe to try to investigate another Bermuda triangle dealeo, where a ship was found where everyone was dead but noone knew why.... (which was interesting, they probably used the stories from the Sable Island to build their story. The sable islands are very well known for ship wrecks) Well, that's it, all i know about Nova Scotia... or can remember at the moment, anyways :) Quote
