Jet2 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I was once told by my colleague that I have green finger for I can make plants grow (small ones in the office or at home) and he always do the opposite. Do you really believe people do have green finger? I personally doubt about it. I think it's related to personal interest, concern or effort. When you are interested in something, you would focus on it, pay more attention or care about it more. That's why the result of doing that thing would be more significant. It is similar to people's chemistry. People get along well when they have interests and believes in common.Otherwise, they will be considered lacking of so called chemistry. I think it's really depend on whether we want or need to improve the particular people relationship. I believe we all have green finger. It's not something mysterious, just a simple decision: If you think you have. You have. So go make good use of them. Go do more planting. Help improve our environment. Quote

I have so much self control! I think the term is green thumb, not green finger.... but yes I have been accused of the old green thumb in my life. My momma is the same way. People say she could poke a rock in the ground and plant would grow from it. I'm not sure it's really something mysterious maybe some people just get the needs of plants better than others. I am also a pretty good cook but my wife is unbelievably good at cooking. She can cook virtually anything and make it taste wonderful (no she's not looking over my shoulder!) With some of the stuff I drag home from the ocean to cook it's good she can do this but she is known as the plant muderer. I have said my plants would cringe away from her when she would walk through my greenhouse! So yes I do think there is something to the term green thumb. Quote
Ahmabeliever Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 What about spreading VAM fungi and bacterial seeding from the dirt under your nails. This will give a gardener who's a bit of a slob like me a 'greener' finger! Hehehehe. I enjoyed that. Other times, the guy with the green thumb has better soil. Quote
