Buffy Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 From today's SF Comical: Nobody Calls That Number Anymore: More people depend solely on cell phones.:According to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 22.3 percent of U.S. households with both landline and cell phones receive almost all of their phone calls on their mobile phone. That's 13.1 percent of all households in the United States. Combined with wireless-only households, 28.9 percent, or nearly 3 out of every 10 households, are reliant or almost completely dependent on cell phones. How do you explain school to a higher intelligence? :)Buffy Quote
Moontanman Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I still have a land line, it's cheaper than a cell but I do have a cell but I only use it for emergencies and to call my son at college. (he has a cell and it's free for us to talk) Quote
DougF Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I still have the 1 land line the wife and I both have cells. Both of the cell phones have two way (direct connect) but the wife would rather talk on the land line then the cell or two way. :) Edit: I use land line for DSL also. Quote
freeztar Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Cell phone only. I have no need for a landline. Quote
REASON Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Yes, I still have a land line at my house. My work provides my mobile phone, so I don't really feel I have a choice. I don't want to carry around two mobile phones. Plus, it still seems to me like I should have a household phone number. It's probably just an old school mentality. Quote
Zythryn Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Technically I do still have a land-line. I have it for our monitoring service and fax only.I never answer the phone, and no one I know (including me) knows the phone number.I have to say, I love not needing to deal with telemarketers;) Quote
Buffy Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 ...I don't want to carry around two mobile phones....I do. Thank god for purses... No fashion has ever been created expressly for the lean purse or for the fat woman: the dressmaker's ideal is the thin millionaires, Buffy Quote
REASON Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I do. Thank god for purses... Yeah? Well I don't want to carry one of those around either. (Well, unless it's a Coach of course, and is neutral enough to match all my shoes ) Quote
DougF Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 ZythrynI have to say' date=' I love not needing to deal with telemarketers [/quote']I've got these people calling me every day on my cell saying,"This is your third and final notice that the warranty is about to expire on you vehicle" I wish I could make them go away, Quote

DougF Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I called that number six months ago, then I talked to our IT department they told me that was for land lines and there were no regulations for cell phones, and sense they are still calling Quote
Zythryn Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 As I recall, telemarketers and not supposed to be able to call cell phones. However, I am not sure about that. Anyone know anything about this? Quote
Tormod Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I have a landline. My phone doesn't work though. Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I still have a land line. I don't know anyone who uses just cell phones. :) Granted, most calls made (and recieved) by my family members are on cell phones, but my above observation still holds true. ^^ Quote

Leather is timeless. :hihi: Maybe you need sex. I had sex a couple days ago, :)Buffay UNI :hihi: Quote
