That would suck, i think there are very few ISPs in that area lol, don't think they will be easily able to switch to another one :hihi:

I don't think its wrong to let people know that if you spam us, we know, fairly relativistically, where you came from. And most ISPs dont tolerate spamming, and being an ISP, they generally have to take action!

Tremble, spammers, we know where you live, mwu, ha, ha, ha, ha!

I did contact both the domain administrator and their hostmaster and ask that this individuals service be disconnected but it also provoked some other thoughts. I had originally thought of bringing this up in private but there's no reason not to bring it up in public.

I'm thinking that we could probably send an advertising bill to the companies these spammers are advertising for. There's no reason these companies shouldn't pay just like those we sell banners to and with proportional rates. Some of these spammers make posts that take up several screen sizes of the average monitor instead of just a small banner ad. Several dollars or pounds per word per view should be fair. If we add this to our registration rules (Terms Of Service) for agreement at registration time it should be collectible. I'd imagine at several hundred or thousand dollars/pounds per ad per view the spam problem could drop off rapidly since most are probably looking for free advertising.and won't like the thought of getting billed for advertising posts :hihi:

That's great:hihi: Now if you happen to figure out how to auto bill* those buttheads from a home pc let me know!

*Ie. they spam me I mark it as such, my pc sends a bill for advertising space on my desktop;) they pay and pay and pay

Perhaps the next generation of Ubu. will come with something like this (hey Alexanderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!)

But would we still be allowed to delete the spam-posts then?

Sure. Soft delete them and when we get paid for the advertisement we reinstate the post. Do keep in mind that the fee is based on a "per view" rate so the business then gets a steady monthly invoice while we view their ad over and over and over ad infinitum :)

emacs can do it already... you just need to know the combo, do C-x C-V C-z C-a C-S C-f C-o while singing "I'm Henry the 8th, I am", tapping on the escape key and whacking a bad driver on their hands, with a big ruler.... simple

Yeah, but we charge a ("modest") Courtesy Advertisement Removal Fee.

Since i do, when i have time, all sorts of on the side stuff, I can quote you our spam thread removal fee:

To thoroughly inspect and remove the thread, to notify the admins and moderators, and anyone who has linked to the spam message, i will quote an hour of work.... An hour of my work is worth $50 for friends, $75 for anyone else, $150 for a company that has more then 10 people. So, we quote them $150 for the removal fee, because such would be my rate for an advertising company, ofcourse i ask you not for the money, consider it as ongoing donations :)

either do that

or scre these f$%^&* for breaking the forums rule, and breaching the cyber laws

and get more moolah outta them

or deal in black and get them to pay a tribute to hypography

either way we are rich

>>_ unless of course you just stick to the ol fashion ways, and delete the spams.
