Stealth77 Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I've been reading some of the discussions about your endeavour for the 20,000,000$ prize from SpaceX. It got me interrested. However, I haven't read any discussions about the launch vehicle you would use. I think this is the most important part about space flight. Without it, all your great ideas on the lunar module and the trip to the moon would be simply just ideas. Now...Designing a privately funded launch vehicle is not an easy task, espeacially with the payload you'd have to bring to the moon. I was just wondering what type of design some of you were aiming for. Quote
TheBigDog Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 There are several commercial options that we have discussed, all with similar payload capabilities and costs ranging from 9-15 million dollars. Janus has modeled our trajectory upon the capabilities of the Russian option that runs at about 9.5 million and puts 1700 kg into LEO. What were your thoughts? Bill Quote
