andrewgarcia86 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Hey y'all. I'm a skydiver from New york and have a fascination with modern science. glad to have found these forums! Quote
REASON Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Welcome andrew. ;) I went skydiving one time in my life - well, it was a static line jump. But it was still really kick ***. :) I would love to do it again sometime. I always wanted to experience a freefall. Science is fun, too. You've come to a great place. There's lots to learn here. Enjoy! :) Quote
alexander Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Hmm, what do i know about sky diving.... well my sister is a rigger at a local club, so i tend to hang out there quiet a bit, and yeah, a bit :thumbs_up We have a guy at our local drop zone jumping a 107, at least thats one of his rigs, dude's crazy... Welcome to hypography, the only place you know where deep thought on theoretical subjects gets spiced up by some down-right crazy activities we get into... this is chico landing in a pond (for fun that is)... andrewgarcia86 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 Alexander, Awesome that you hang out at your sister's DZ! I'm pretty new to the sport so I'm jumping a nice docile 160 7-cell for now. I'm real into freeflying but am starting to get into some high performance swoop type of stuff...cool photo hehe. You ever pack at the DZ or mainly just spectate? Why don't you get out there and make some jumps! AFF or something... Best,Andrew Quote
alexander Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 You ever pack at the DZ or mainly just spectate?I know how to pack, but since i try not to get into it, i don't pack at the DZ, though my sis is perhaps the most respected rigger at the zone, some of the sport jumpers were like "It opened so softly, i had to look back twice in disbelief" Why don't you get out there and make some jumps! AFF or something...I'd love to, but its because you have no idea to how many hobbies that would add....Motorcycle Stunting, riding, fixing, helping, buildingPhotography (you can see some of my shots in the photography social group)Computers (i run the CS section here, um, yeah, i do lots of computer work)Fly Fishing (well as well as regular fishing, deep sea, etc)Inventing random things (hacking up gadgets, building sound dampening wall modules, etc)Pen Testing and Wardriving and Warmapping (computer stuff is one thing, this takes up even more time, and generally involves a motor vehicle)Drawing (generally pencil, but i do lots of photo editing in various programs)DJing (its a recent endeavor of mine, working on a new set, doing a relaxing trance with asian overtones set right now)Locksport (speaks for itself, locks, picks, tools, fun)Tactical woodsball (another one that speaks for itself)list goes on....There just aren't all that many more things to fit into my life.... nor the expenses, lol, the new camera with a lens just set me back another $2400... alexander Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Imagine an aircraft hangar filled with the 2500 currently posting members. now look left, then right, then in 9 other directions, three of the 11 of them are well-rounded individuals with lots of interests, problem is they may not coinside with your interests, but they certainly ponder a great plethora of things  (if you haven't picked up on it, its a futurama reference :hyper: ) I'll check some of your sets, certainly, i'll give you some feedback within a few days :cheer: Quote
