goku Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 An "unmoment" for finding out that you "might" have cancer... I went to the doctors yesterday to have a lymph node that had been bothering me for two weeks checked out... Actually I had three swollen lymph nodes on the left side of my neck... Two were near my jaw and had grown large enough to "connect" with each other and appear as if they were one. Those two were/are very tender and hurt a lot when touched with the slightest force. The other one was a super-clavicular lymph node (It's above my collar bone) and it's not tender at all. The tender one (Actually two, but looks like one.) they figure may just be my body getting rid of "normal" bodily toxins/poisons. The non-tender node isn't near any source of visible contamination so I got an X-ray of my chest done (What does "stat" mean? Anyone know?) I forget what for, but nothing out of the ordinary was found. I then had to go to the lab to get 3 blood samples taken (Ended up being 4 since the nurse wasn't satisfied with the amount of blood in vial #3... Hand... so... numb...) for three different types of tests. The likelihood of it being cancerous was small enough that he didn't order the tests "stat" and I'll find out on Tuesday or late Monday if I have Lieukemia, Tuberculosis, or any other of the plethora of things it may be. I'm hoping for Cat Scratch... Seemed the least harmful. For now I'm back on antibiotics (woo...hoo... I think my 7th time this year, 5 of which I was on Keflex [Cephalexin]). This time around I'm taking Clindamycin to help get rid of the two nodes fused as one. I hate taking antibiotics... :hihi: i hope everything turns out okay :) i had cat scratch when i was like 5 or 6.back then nobody knew what it was, i almost died.now shouldn't be any problem :) i've almost died twice. the second time i hit a dog while riding my brother's 4-wheeler. shattered the back of my skull. EMTs had to restart my heart twice, i think, on the way to the hospital. i went into a comma because my brain started swelling.that's what my family tells me. all i remember is waking up in the hospital. therefore, a moment forEMTshospitalshealling Quote
Dark Mind Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 :hihi:  And a moment for the human nature of compassion which compels others to care for one another :). I think I'm missing that... not in the general sense... but on a more "basic" level...... Quote

You should have seen my neck nodes a few weeks ago, they where so swollen - turned out to be infectious mononucleosis (yes the kissing desease) and stat means pronto, make it happen fast Quote

Just kidding :naughty:. I don't think it's that serious... it just hurts like a [expletive deleted]! I went down there so they could remove it, or drain it, or do whatever they needed to to make it go away. No such luck . And I actually looked up "Stat" after posting that and the definition is: Adv.- With no delay; at once.Adj.- Immediate. ...Works for me . As for gravity... (Also, when checking MySpace it will sometimes log me in as a random user when I change the page... I could wreak havoc if I were so inclined . Hasn't done that for this site yet though, thank GAHD .) Quote
