This website is set up to require that your first post is in the Introductions forum. The reasons for this are basically 2:

• Thwart human spammers and spambots, the plague of websites everywhere – a sort of additional CAPCHA;
• Put a human face on members, by encouraging us to give a brief personal introduction – likes, dislikes, special areas of interest, hobbies, educational background, profession, or any of the unnumbered quirks that defined us as individual human beings.

Now that you’ve made an intro post, you should be free to post in almost all of the forums - though something strange must be happening, as I see this is your 2nd intro post – I’ll look into it

 

While you can create threads in the strange claim forum, that forum is usually reserved as a place where we moderators move threads that make a scientific claim but don’t at least roughly follow the scientific method – a sort of “hall of shame”. It’s usually better to post a

 

It can’t be said too often: everybody should be familiar with the site rules (not the same document as the legal boilerplate you see when you register). Hypography is different than many similar-looking websites, in that we try for a high standard of quality in science, largely via this informal collection of rules, hints, and suggestions. If you keep your science sound, you should be able to advance some pretty wild hypotheses outside of the strange claims forum.

In addition to what Craig said, it does sometimes take up to 15 minutes before posting is possible in other forums than the introduction forum. You should be all set to go now! Welcome.
