Racoon Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hello Mental40! Welcome aboard.Very serendipitous of you to find the forums here I have great interest in Sociology and Psychology as well. Fascinating stuff. Where are you from? Quote
mental40 Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hi Racoon Yeah this site is fab have had a good look round and really like it. Have you studied sociology/psychology ? Personally after a couple of years studying psychology, even though i have an afinity with it i have found that i have less passion for it than sociology hence the change in my degree. I am from the UK, specifically St Helens which is roughly half way between Manchester and Liverpool. Quote
Racoon Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Yes, I've taken some college psychology and sociolgy courses. 200 levelI'm no 'expert' mind you. I'm a fitness trainer, and theres plenty of psychology in that.. and socio-economics as well. I thought that would be a great place to help people, have enjoyable work, and be somewhat of a Maverick. I have a few ideas on how to improve society :)But they aren't always polictically correct. Jump in when you can spare some time in the forums. I/we would be interested in what you could contribute. Best of luck with your schooling. Please share what you've learned if you can. Its always nice to hear the British version in contrast to the American one... Quote
mental40 Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 Hi my fella is a non-competative body builder/strength athlete, have you heard of T-Nation ? Am assuming your interest in the psychology of sport stems from that ? In the UK sport psychology has only recently been acknowledged by the British Psychological Society and is relatively new to the psychology field. I agree it would be an intersting field to work in but over here they do not give it the recognition it deserves. Am intrigued to hear your views on improvement to society, no matter how un PC they are, lol Quote
