Hey everyone, glad to find this wonderful and greatly informative site! I have been a "professional" fossil hunter and rockhound for over 25 years now, and it just keeps getting better! I have so many interests and hobbies that I would bore everyone by listing them...Anything scientific is where my heart is at, love UFO's and the unknown things in our universe....I live in Utahs outback, and don't get into the city very often to get to libraries, museums, seminars, etc., so the internet has filled my knowledge void very nicely...GLAD TO BE HERE! (I have burned up 2 days on this site, there is so much to learn and so little time)

Hi...I have tried hunting meteorites on the dry lake beds in the west desert area a few times, but it has been years. I have purchased a new metal detector that is a deep seeker and have been working on a way to tow it behind a four wheeler....I have only had the luck of finding one small, verifiable meteorite. I found it near Green River' Utah on a fossil hunting trip one time.....a matter of sheer luck! I guess the addage is true, "Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good".

Very welcome to you, always respect the hands-on scientists. Welcome to hypography, the only place you know where the majority of people were very excited when they found Compsognathus and hypothesized about their modern-day descendants
