nika Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 Hello all, just joined! I am interested in exploring ecologically integrated, relatively low-tech, and sustainable solutions to energy and food security issues. In particular, today, I am exploring biochar. Am looking forward to getting to know you all! Nika Quote
Tormod Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 Welcome to our forums! We have a lot of terra preta talk going on. Quote
freeztar Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 Welcome nika! :) The more heads we have working on these issues the better! Quote
nika Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 thanks all! its definitely an exciting time .. from the reading I have done (prelim) Terra preta is simply fascinating. As a cell biologist, I see this as a living potential solution and one that is so complex that it may have the resilience and robustness to handle many different ecological settings. Gotta say, its not a “discovery” so much as listening to the wisdom of the earth and our ancestors. I have a lot to learn yet, that’s for sure. Quote
alexander Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 welcome to hypography, the only place you know, where the term "relatively low tech" does not exist  Quote
