modest Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 Hello William, Welcome to Hypography! I think you'll find the intelligence you're looking for, with a pinch of creativity, a heap of eager curiosity, all kinds of rationality, and a whole lot of fun  Welcome aboard. ~modest Quote
alexander Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 please tell me you are not a telemarketer... welcome to hypography, the only place you know where we put science into everything.... even getting drunk requires some mathematical computations with us  Quote
Moontanman Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 please tell me you are not a telemarketer... welcome to hypography, the only place you know where we put science into everything.... even getting drunk requires some mathematical computations with us :) Yeah, math, getting drunk, works for me! One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor  Quote
modest Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 science into everything.... even getting drunk requires some mathematical computations with us :) I personally don't know I'm drunk 'till I multiply milliliters per hour and % alcohol by volume and get a value over 100... either that or I pass out looking for the calculator - either way really  ~modest Quote
alexander Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 ya see... everyone does theirs differently, i use math in a less traditional way, i throw 2 d10s on a skill check to see if i'm ok to drive... Quote
William Honey Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Posted September 16, 2008 Thank you much for the welcomes gang. One of my 31 writings to change and save lives around the world is titled "COUNSELOR"In this writing at verse one it plainly states to use strong drink in moderation. Moderationis one to two cans of lite beer or one glass of strong drink. Any more than that is notbeing a responsible person. Responsibility is the price of success. Had I been more responsible and curbed my anger, I would be a millionaire now, its called divorce andthe terrible cost of anger. Anger has cost a pro football player nearly fifty million dollarsas he did anger with his ex wife. Now he has done anger again and is back on trial andmay go to prison for life. This anger spell has already cost him close to one hundred thousand dollars and will probably reach half a million before this trial ends. Whatever you do, don't do anger, walk away from anger and keep a silent mouth. Yeah, I am a teacher and have learned the hard way.....William Quote
Tormod Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 If it talks like a marketer, sounds like a marketer, posts like a marketer...what is it? Quote
William Honey Posted September 17, 2008 Author Report Posted September 17, 2008 Cute Tormod, marketing is selling something. Teaching is helping people with theintelligence needed to avoid all the mistakes that most people make. No product or service, only intelligence gained from research to change and save lives! My employment is head counselor teacher for a counseling firm. I was only hoping to help somebody with the intelligence I needed years ago. Quote

freeztar Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 i must respectfully, disagree. science is limited. The established body of knowledge known as science is indeed limited. We are constantly pushing the boundaries and slowly removing these limitations. not to toot my own horn, i am the most intelligent person here :DBy virtue of you mentioning it, you have shown that you are not. ;) just the other day i was spreading some chicken poop on the mountain and nearly wrecked, wet dirt is slick. that's smarts right thair!FYI, 'wet dirt' is commonly referred to as mud. Goku, I'm not sure what caused you to make this post, but it has little or nothing to do with either science or the topic of this thread. Please consider this when making posts. Essay Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Thank you much for the welcomes gang. One of my 31 writings to change and save lives around the world is titled "COUNSELOR"Speaking of saving lives around the world, marketing does seem to be a very key component.I'm interested in the whole 'global warming' thing and wonder if you're interested, think it's important, etc. If so, I'd love to hear your take on the "Death of Environmentalism" topic:http://hypography.com/forums/environmental-studies/16047-the-death-of-environmentalism.html#post236616 I'm currently pondering that one....I was especially struck by the mention of religions and "...to figure out who we are and who we need to be," establishing a sort of global ethic. ...and what about a secular global ethic? ~whoops, I'm not on the environmentalism thread yet, eh? ~Later;) Quote
William Honey Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 Hello Essay and thank you much for your comments. I don't know what to think aboutglobal warming. It does seem that the ice is melting in the Artic region. If the ice ismelting then something is causing it. It may be something that nobody can control. It could be nature doing this. Nature does what it wants to, blaming humans for whatnature is doing could be the wrong approach. Still if it is dangerous to world, then with all our science we should try and do somethingabout it. If is it being caused by what is being released into the air, then it should becontrolled by the governments of the world. Thats my two cents worth for what I have observed, okay Quote
