Karnuvap Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Hello everybody. My name is Paul Smith (not the Paul Smith just a Paul Smith). I have a degree in Physics and I found this site while looking for a way to utilise Solar Power Water Heating with my existing central heating and hot water set-up. A round-about route but I am glad that I found you.A while ago I was the resident Physicist on the now defunct "Homework Elephant" site. I enjoy answering high school questions on science and maths and I look forward to contributing here. I write science fiction that usually ends up involving time travel of some sort but, don't worry, I know it isn't possible. Quote
freeztar Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Welcome Paul! :) Thanks for the introduction. It's always nice to have another physicist around! Quote

Hello Paul, and a belated welcome! You’re brief CV suggest to me the ideal hypographer (OK, I exaggerate a bit – my vision of ideal hypographer would be a multiple Nobel laureate mathematical physicist/biologist who for inexplicable reasons wishes to dedicate inordinate amounts of time to friendly and educational discussion with present company here at hypography, but a Physics degree and a liking for answering science questions is close enough ). Have fun, and keep it (physically) real – the eternal balancing act that is hypograhy. :hyper: (Oh, and if you know any other fun, real-keeping folk, bring them, too ) Quote
Tormod Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 We accept all Paul Smiths! :hyper: Quote
Karnuvap Posted September 27, 2008 Author Report Posted September 27, 2008 Thanks guys. I think I have found a new home. It is good to be amongst sane rational scientists even though your site seems to attract some strange theories and folk that string long words together in apparently coherent sentences that don't bear close examination for meaning. I have already commented on the degree of patience that you have with these people and, who knows, they might be onto something if only they could put their ideas into coherent terms. I said that I wrote some fiction and with your indulgence I'll post some in the appropriate thread - I'll appreciate your opinions. Quote

alexander Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Very warm welcome to you, Karnuvap, it's great to have people who get enjoyment from helping other people's thinking processes. Personally that is one of the reasons i stick around here, i figure, as long as i have made someone learn something that day, my life is not being needlessly spent... Welcome to Hypography, the only place you know where great minds of students and teachers approaching equilibrium, increase in creative potential with the limit in the turnout of the interactions approaching infinity :) (that ought to confuse a few people) Quote
