Namaewaguildo Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 I'm very new to chemistry, and I was wondering if there was an insoluble solid that would float right in the middle of a mixture of Honey (which is currently in the bottom of the mixture) a detergent solution (in the middle of the mixture) and water (which lies on top). Any suggestions would also be appreciated ^^ Quote
modest Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 As I understand the question, you want something that sinks in water yet floats on honey. Water has a density of 1000 kg/m^3 and honey has a density of 1360 kg/m^3. Therefore, anything on this list between 1000 and 1360 (chalk for example) will work... if I understand your intent. Quote
