The_Oracle Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Did anyone see The Matrix Reloaded? I'm probably going to soon. I was thinking " matrix is a mathematical concept similar to the determinant but differs from it in not having the numerical value. It obeys the same rules like addition multiplication so the array of mn numbers set out in m rows and n colums is the matrix of m x n . And these arrays that are treated as single enteties and that are under the matrix algebra are used where ever there are simultaneous equations. Like "changing from one set of Cartesian axes to another set that is inclined to the first"- the quantum theory. ______________Where is the certainity comming from in the movie ? That world can't even exist the way they made it "like stay still." Can anyone explain to me where I go wrong ?:-$ :-( :-|
administrator Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 The matrix is coolll i love movies like that my cat is in my room but its eating jello ahahaofkkkfagala maglaagagawwawa
administrator Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 How do u know all the math u must no alot abot math and speling, u most have a lot of firends.
administrator Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 i wish i was a nerd with a lot of friends and people liked me, quantom physics rule. Editor's note: You certainly qualify for the first, although I don't see how you'd make a lot of friends.
Oracle Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 it's quantum physics not quantom :-) and uhm the movie I must say is quite good...there's lots of philosophy in it . I just don't understand why it's called "matrix"
Noah Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Yes, the movie was good. But I needed to see the first one to fully understand this one It is an interesting concept. Our real world is just an illusion. We are all plugged into machines, which control us and provide this "illusion". There is a real world, and Zion is supposedly part of the "real" world, but it may just be another part of the Matrix. I guess this falls into the "technology" range of discussion
Tormod Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Our lovely anonymous friend above seems to have nothing but slander and silly jokes. If we hear more from him I think he's history. I didn't get to see MAtrix Reloaded yet...I wanted to buy the game but Gamespot really slammed it hard with a really poor score. Seems it's a hate it or love it kind of game. As for the mathematical aspects of The Matrix I am blissfully ignorant. Tormod
I.D Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 It obeys the same rules like addition multiplication so the array of mn numbers set out in m rows and n colums is the matrix of m x n . And these arrays that are treated as single enteties and that are under the matrix algebra are used where ever there are simultaneous equations. Like "changing from one set of Cartesian axes to another set that is inclined to the first I aM Interested in wat u are saying..is there anyway u could simplify this philosophy, so that i could understand it better.
Lord Henry Wotton Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 The name is there merely because it's catchy. The philosophy in the movies contradicts itself, but makes for a bit of fun!
DivineNathicana Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I know it's an old thread, but I just wanted to point out that a lot of the philosophy behind the movie was taken from ancient Indian texts... Some believed in the whole idea of the physical world not being real and all that. - Alisa
Aki Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I think Revolutions was worse.... the ending was sooo crappy.
