Was googling stuff for an assignment and came across this site, pretty cool, reckon I'll drop in sometimes when I get the chance, don't get near the computer much these days 'cause I've got teenage kids. We all need our own laptop! Anyway, I'm from Queensland, Australia and am finally going to Uni after spending the last decade and a half bringing up kids.

Thanks for the hello Pamela. However, don't know that parenting has been a "cocoon" in fact as a solo parent it has been far from it. And parenting (healthy parenting) does require of itself a great deal of knowledge. In fact I think that it is through the experience of learning to be a good parent I have become equipped to tackle university. If you can learn to bring up a well adjusted child you can learn anything!

hi Cooloola,

I know what you mean! I digested more medical books because of my children's illnesses, that I became the doctor's worst nightmare at every visit. Questions like "why is the sky blue?" opens up a whole other area of studying. My metamorphosis occurred when I was called Pam instead of mom. My identity as an individual had buried so deep, I had almost forgotten that it was there.

Good Luck with your studies, I am sure you will find some helpful insight here at Hypography
