Well, I do love science, and I do love posting, so things should work just fine here. I also participate on almost all the bonsai forums here on the interwebs, under the same screen name more or less.

 

I'm a member of Mensa, as is my wife (we're the unusual couple, she was already a member and I tested after we were already dating).

 

I was a Baptist minister for 15 years but am now an atheist. I owe this all to the nonexistence of the almighty.

 

I am interested in science but am somewhat undereducated so I hope to be learning something here.

It's nice to see another fellow midwesterner join in the fray. There's a few other locals that post here.

 

That's quite a conversion you've gone through. It's not often that you find a Baptist Minister deciding to completely throw the book at the notion of god. I wonder if you'd be willing to share what triggered your mental transformation.

 

Anyway, I'm sure you'll like it here. There's a lot of sharp knives in this drawer, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are some fellow Mensa members as well.
