hehehe... I can see that. ;) I've had a couple of flying dreams, and you're right, they always seem to be so vivid. I can see how some people, high out of their minds, might wake up after something like that and then leap to their death off a balcony or whatever, thinking that they really can fly....

Thankfully you didn't get hurt jumping off the cupboards though

Never thought of that - some celebrity or another high on coke (they don't like it, by the way, they just like the way it smells...) in his hotel room experiences a flight-dream, and being high, reckon: "Hey, duuuuuuude... tha' waz kinda cool - let's give it a bash..." and proceed to jump off the balcony of his tenth story penthouse suite, only to make a rather nasty splat on the road. And then the media goes out to speculate what the poor bastard was so depressed about that he had to resort to suicide. Maybe Curt Cobain wanted to prove to himself that he is so strong that he can withstand a shotgun fired point blank. No depression, nothing - just stupidity?

Interesting... (keep off the chems, boys & girls...)

hmmm. the ones who are high on coke never sleep! it's the ones who have confidence within (heroin) and a wonderland to be in (lsd) who would most likely try to fly. cokeheads are too paranoid to die like that.

haha... any hallucinogen really, or even marijuana... I'm no angel, but I never did any drugs other than the one time I got really high on marijuana, and at that time I was a young teen living in NY. I will never forget that experience, and I can see how people might get high and think they're dreaming. I couldn't tell if I was asleep or awake, but I tried as hard as I could to try and "snap out of it", and I was trying to cross a major street with lots of cars speeding by. I remember specifically putting my foot down off the curb onto the street, and being scared out of my mind that I would die if I tried to get across, because I couldn't get my mind to respond. Not to mention that I had no concept of time, and I couldn't tell if I'd been standing there trying to cross for 10 seconds or half an hour. I guess that one time was enough to scare me away from ever losing my wits like that. Anyway, I think if I had been a little more gone at that time, I would have really not been able to think enough to stop myself from running out into the street, or if I had been near a window, maybe I'd have been one of those ones trying to fly.

*cranks up Pink Floyd's 'learning to fly' and leaps off a cliff* ;)

I'm not sure about Cobain... I think he was just trying to escape from Courtney Love.... I might have shot myself, too. ;)

Yea, imagine telling that to the board during your interviews and having to take the polygraph against it  Public records are a cruel mistress... Even my own mother thought I did more drugs than that (ran with a bad crowd, I guess...I found her diary once when I was a late teen, and I read some of it - man, she really thought I was a bad kid!!) So, in a way, I was kind of glad to take the polygraph so that all would know I only did it one time. Take that, mom. I guess I don't really know if that's normal or not, though, considering that I have nothing to compare it to....

for a first time into the realm of nonordinary reality that does actually sound about right. you had no idea what to expect.

i can relate, my mother think's i am a drug attic just because i openly smoke marijuana. occasionally i'll sit cross legged on my bed for 5 hours and listen to ambience on mushrooms and just think, progress my self into the future. but that is very rare.

when i think of drug attic, i think of stealing or giving someone head just so you can smoke some crack. THAT is bad.

since we're on the topic within this dream thread...

dreams are amazingly vivid when you blaze. in fact, i have had one lucid dream in my life while falling asleep happy.

Now for the real mind blower.... have you ever had a dream you got really stoned and when you woke up you really felt that way?

No but I used to go to bed that way. Don't do the chem's any more, and I'd recommend staying away from them all togeather.

thanks for the advice, but i am confident in my actions. and yes, niviene, MANY times. it's amazing how psychological it really is. WOW that happened last night! i woke up (after dreaming about drinking) to find my world spinning. it was quite pleasant. i even heaved this morning...but i was just extremely hungry.

mmmm..i made eggs and toast.

infamous, of course I agree with you - I don't recommend any chems either. But, it's interesting to study th e effects they have on the mind. Orby.... you heaved because you were so hungry?? eeeek  I stopped and got a passion fruit bagel from panera... mmmm!!

I had a dream last night that I moved (to live in another house), and I looked out the front window and there was a pine tree, and a road farther out, with a few cars passing... a light dusting of snow, and it must have been Saturday because there was a college football game on. While I do not like snow, I admit that I am looking forward both to moving and to college football. I think I'm just tired of the heat/humidity - I actually really enjoy the heat - but I have really long hair, and the humidity makes it impossible to ever wear my hair down, due to that it gets kind of wavy in the humidity (which I don't really like) and also because it's like wrapping a warm wet towel around my neck and down my back in the nice heat and feels like it adds about 20 degrees. I don't mind the cold either, but I do not like driving in the snow. Oh well, it was a nice dream, anyway.

infamous, i had a dream about you.

weird huh?

we were camping in the santa cruz mountains, but it looked like florida terrain (probably because i've lived in both places and dreams tend to mix up a lot of stuff)

and everybody had walkie talkies.

and basically, in a nutshell, you got lost. we couldn't find you, you were losing morale, and you were dying of starvation, dehydration, and all that good stuff.

yeah, it was really sad, but it happened in my head.

oh i also had another dream that was somehow connected to that one. yesterday when i was exploring nonordinary reality in downtown st. petersburg, i was riding a cruiser bike with my friend jeremy and this orange car with these 2 beautiful girls drive by, and all i could feel was electricity. all i could say was "i want to love them"

well i continued my journey.

now, that actually happened.

in my dream i was driving this time, and i drove next to them, making faces and gestures and fun stuff like that. hmmm, well nothing really happened. i just rememeber being with them. funny how i didn't forget them, though.

I hope that wasn't a bad omen Orby, BTW, you did have the forsight to call up the mounties didn't you??

But have no fear,

for I am sitting here,

with a tall cold beer,

and my wereabouts is clear!!!!!

But truly Orby, I am quite honored that you chose to include me in one of your dreams but one last thought. If you see those pretty girls again, get them to stop and include me in that dream also. I might be old but I ain't dead yet. Ha, ha, ha, ha , ha................
