Cocktail to fix bugs that fight drugs:hyper:

By Nerissa Hannink

As infection rates of antibiotic-resistant bacteria increase, their evolution may provide drug targets for which the so-called superbugs will have no defence, according to University of Melbourne scientists.

Researchers in the University‘s Bio21 Institute are developing an antibiotic cocktail with multiple modes of action to be taken as a prophylactic before an at-risk situation, such as entering hospital for an operation or going on holiday.

And of course the people will only take half of the prescribed medications, and the super bugs will then become resistant to them as well. Great thinking. That's how we got here in the first place isn't it?
