Quantum Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 What are your thoughts on Fuzzballs, String Theory's equivalentto Black Holes. I think it is a bit far fetched, however I think that is what I like about Physics. Whether or not it should be taken true I feel that every idea should be taken as true, and the ideas behind the fuzzball seems very beleivable and in ways even more beeivablr than the idea of thew Black Hole in the first place. Your Thoughts? :cup: Quote
Queso Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Glad you asked Tormod. They are (usually)small compacted particles of fuzz that over time manipulate a ball shape. Their significance is still unknown. Quote
Quantum Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 It is String Theory's take on the Black Hole, it has taken on the name of a fuzzball from the fact that in comparison to a regular Black Hole the event horizon is fuzzy, here is a wikipedia article if you would like a good read :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzballs Your thoughts? I myself am an avid String Theorist however I think thatthis take on a Black Hole is just String Theory trying to take attension. However I cannot say that the idea behind it is wrong because it very much makes sense. :cup: Quote
