Kent Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 What is your favorite brench of maths or physics. What are some of the equations? problems? proofs? theorms? blah blah...
maddog Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 This has shifted over the years. For the longest time as I was growing up it wasinterest in Black Holes. As I learned more Physics I came to realize my interestreally was at the fundamental question "What is the Quantum Nature of Gravity ?" So for Physics, it would be unlikely union of GR with QM (QFT) (doesn't work yet)...For Math, it would a whole bunch Differential Geometry/Complex Analysis/AbstractAlgebra (with Spinors & Lie Groups mixed in)...Though I still have passing interest in Astrophysics & Cosmology... :cup: Maddog
Gulielmus Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I learn a little about every thing (nothing really in-depth though), my current interest is in string theory. As far as math goes I like math that makes me think and is tough for me, maybe some geometry. I’m not much of a mathematician but I try any way.
Tim_Lou Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 i love calculus... it is overwhelming more interesting than algerba or geometry, well at least for me.
Kent Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 i love calculus... it is overwhelming more interesting than algerba or geometry, well at least for me. What brench of Calculus?
Turtle Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Number theory for me; the basis for all.:cup:
Sonic213 Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 forming proofs or mebbe robotics...
Bo Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 i loved general relativity when i first met it,now my main interest are supersymmetry, string theory and cosmology. Bo
