wls967 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 I am using the circuitry from a Malibu Solar landscape light to power a homemade Sun Jar as a gift for my mother. Everything works great except the LED only burns for about 3 hours. My question is this, What is the best solar panel I can use to replace the original to make this light work better if most of the light source comes from indoor lighting? The current panel fits within a 3 inch radius and supplies power to 1 600mah AA battery. The paperwork that came with the light says it is 70ma / 4 V panel. I don't know if this correct or just a misprint. I believ e the 70 ma, but not sure about 4 V charging single AA 600 mAh battery. All help appreciated. E-Mail [email protected] thanks Quote
wls967 Posted January 2, 2009 Author Report Posted January 2, 2009 That should have read 3 inch diameter. I am also disabled and have a limited income so the best CHEAP panel is the one I am interested in. Quote
belovelife Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 A 0.5-mm thick silicon film is injected with tiny gold particles. The properties of this precious metal alter efficiency so much that two, rather than five or six, photons of light can now generate one electron. This method has clear practical applications: One square meter of a solar battery can now generate about 600 Watts; and its capacity can be boosted to one kWt. Quote
