Thunderbird Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Rare pink iguana evaded Darwin - Discovery.com- msnbc.com She told Discovery News that "the thing that continues to surprise me is the fact that even in the Galapagos, a place that is the 'Mecca' for evolutionary biologists, we still have undiscovered biodiversity not only amongst small organisms, but even for large vertebrates, as these iguanas are." Moontanman Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Great post T-Bird, Galapagos is a fascinating place, one of the places I always wanted to visit and explore. I almost bought a giant tortoise once, they are bred in captivity and young ones can be bought as pets. Quote

Moontanman Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Yeah, i live in an area where I could have kept it outside 6 to 8 months of the year, it would have been so cool to have a huge tortoise grazing in my yard! I keep box turtles instead, I have one I've had for 35 years. Quote
