Turtle Posted April 16, 2005 Author Report Posted April 16, 2005 ___Actually it is less to worry about, albeit different. This is after all about the journey & not the destination; this is after all a Quest.___Now I admit to some dissapointment, consternation, confusion, depression over the whole moving business, but I have noticed so far on the quest that these interuptions pass sooner or later. Becomes a matter of patience.___Anyway, I have been biding my time with my bags all packed by doing some painting & I dug out the camera today to grab a shot of me at work. I have put the photo up in my Gallery area.___Odd how feeling so out of sorts can result in something creative. So, for the time being, if I'm not visiting here much just imagine me isolated in my tiny little room painting. Quote
Queso Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 will do, and actually i admit i'm wrong. convenience lessens worries. gives you more time to think. the illusion i was seeing was that i was focusing too much on the worries and not realizing that the worries i was focusing on were less than what would be if the convenience were to be stripped. oy-i hope that makes sense. creativity is sneaky. is it not? Turtle Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 ___No, it is sneaky sometimes; I just wanted to say 'snot'.___In view of the move, I am dematerializing like a mug! EPA is coming today to take samples of the paint the landlord scraped; he is in big trouble they tell us.Good grief!!    :bat: Quote
Queso Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 creativity could be like snot though.it comes and it goes. Quote
Turtle Posted April 26, 2005 Author Report Posted April 26, 2005 ___Well blow my nose! I just had an idea! GETE___There is no doubt were moving soon as the others have started packing. I still think I have way too much now that I see it gathered, but compared to the others I feel pretty good. Some of them are starting to see things my way, ie. minimize posessions & keep only the multifunctional! Is that...do I see... yes, I think I just saw the Dog. Here pooch... Quote
Buffy Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Moving *always* makes you wish you had less! Most people are nowhere near as logical as you Turtle in coming up with a truly effective mechanism to minimize while maximizing! Go Dog! Bark,Buffy Quote
Buffy Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Carrying over an idea from the Skywatcher's thread: No matter how you minimize your multifunctionism, you can never have too many shoes.... Cheers!Buffy Quote
Turtle Posted April 27, 2005 Author Report Posted April 27, 2005 ___GETE I just turned down a very nice pair one of my roommates found needing dematerialization. I have 1 pair of good Redwing boots, 1 hand-me-down pair of Nike athletic shoes, & 1 pair of slippers. Sometimes in Summers I buy a pair of flip-flops, but I prefer to go barefoot as much as possible.___Gator flip-flops anyone? ;) Quote
Buffy Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 <homer>mmmmmmm, Manolo's....</homer> Although the shoes that are really to die for these days are Z-Coils, the most comfortable shoes in the Universe. I have no affiliations with them but my tootsies thank me for owning a couple pair: http://www.zcoil.com/ Spring in her step,Buffy Quote
Turtle Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 ___Speaking of shoes, there was a shoe factory fire just across the river this week; a hundred souls were lost. :( ___(minimalist post) :( Quote
Queso Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 barefoot is the way to be. i can't believe it's illegal to drive barefoot....that's the best way to drive! not like i obide by such laws. i'm sure there's a "good reason" like foot sweat sliding off pedal land you freak out and kill a black woman and her baby and you go to jail forever for a hate crime. or maybe it's just protecting the passengers against a raunchy smell. either way...barefoot or bust. Quote
Turtle Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 ___Not only does barefoot do away with shoes, but socks as well. I like how my feet toughen as the season progresses & that I can walk on rock without wincing & stumbling around like a shoe-dependant novice. GETE ___Still, in practice one generally needs shoes to enter the market or such places. Warm mud, oozing, between,my toes. Quote
Buffy Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Growing up in LA, shoes to me have always been an occasional necessity forced by insurance restrictions, desire for food in a "no shirt/shoes/service" joint, or avoiding nazi school administrators who for some reason feel that lack of shoes is a disciplinary problem. Driving barefoot is the only thing I have an absolute prohibition against, but other than that, they should be optional.... Footloose,Buffy Quote
Queso Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 when you live by the beach no one seems to mind! ;) Quote
Turtle Posted May 12, 2005 Author Report Posted May 12, 2005 ___Standing barefoot in the foam of the sea leads me to talk of the dog a bit, as much of the discussion has leaned in the direction of the quest. When one stands in the foam of the sea, one is at once on land, at sea & in the air, & in the realm of magic such circumstance is proprietous, ie. a good time to meditate, work spells, pray, & otherwise in general get in touch with the supernatural.___In the quest of dog, native americans of the plains sometimes created propietous circumstance for magic. The dog warrior paints himself red & black & goes about his daily business except everything is done backwards. The dog warrior says "hello" when he leaves & "goodbye" when he's come, rises at night & beds in the morning, sits his horse backwards, etc. This may continue days or weeks until the constant work at considering the reverse of minutia precipitates a vision, insight, or other phenominal experience.___I offer this to the dog warriors past & present; your pursuit is a useless waste of time & you are stupid to pursue it & you should be beaten for displaying your stupid worthless self in public.
