brad Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 What do you do when you start feeling blue? Quote
pamela Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I go hiking. The combination of the beauty of nature, fresh air and physical exercise, works wonders. Whatever is bothering me is then less overwhelming, and I can work through it with a clearer mind:) Quote
CraigD Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I … er … (how to put this delicately and all-age appropriately) … have marital relations. (Wait! I just remembered that anything’s OK, as long as its latin ;)) Coitus. :) Seriously, in my experience, for most people, the resulting surge of endogenous (produced within your body) psychotropic hormones - the major one is Oxytocin, I believe – blasts most blue funks away like cobwebs before a garden hose! If they weren’t endogenous and self-regulating (the ‘ole hypothalamus cranks it out at the rate that is not subject to negotiation), I expect these hormones would be controlled substances, as their potential for abuse seems sky high. In fact, there are US CSA Schedule I drugs that appear to work in a manner similar to coitus, such as the infamous club drug MDMA. Quote
