Moontanman Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Just when you think you've heard it all..... Personally i think the idea of the entire Earth being a super organism is a very good analogy of the global ecosystem. Looking at it that was various parts of the ecology are roughly equivalent to various parts of as complex organism. The rain forests are the lungs, the oceans the blood, and humans are the reproductive organs :) Quote

How far can you take this? Does it have its own Immune System now getting ready to swat the billions of two legged, bacteria-filled, bags of water infesting and interfering with it? :) Quote
Moontanman Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Taking this "analogy" further I would see the diseases humans seem to be flushing out of the rain forest and other wild areas to be analogous to an immune system. Quote
