dr_roose Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 About Me:I was born in 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio and currently reside in Spokane Washington USA. I joined the Marine Corps when I was seventeen and served for six years, fortunately without needing to experience any combat except with Navy swabbies in the local taverns. I made the rank of Sergeant but left as a Lance Corporal due to one too many fights in the local pub. I am a retired Computer Systems Consultant. Although I was a high school drop out, I made my living as a consultant in a field where advanced degrees are usually required for entry level positions. I was active in the early Space Program and have my name sitting on the moon inside of Surveyor V, one of the first unmanned probes to land safely on the moon. I designed and built one of the first pieces of telephone equipment to be allowed to connect through the Bell Telephone System, eventually leading to the Bell System losing its monopoly on telephone equipment. I also designed the first Digital Calculator and Logic Analyzer in the early 70's. I built them in my garage for my own use and neglected to patent them, thus someone else got credit for the inventions. I am a pilot but I am too old and sick to fly anymore. My Education: I have a phd in philosophy from the the University of Hard Knocks; which since the University of Hard Knocks has no campus, no facility, no Dean and no Administrator, I conferred this degree on myself by the authority of the many, many years of diligent study under very difficult circumstances that I put toward earning this degree: and by virtue of having written and published a book on the internet. I also used to work with, for and above a lot of real Phd's who gave me the tag of Dr. Dick: and I have fun with it. My Favorite Quotes:There is but one, single all encompassing criterion for all human decisions - Is it good for the Children of Earth? " by me and "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth." by Kahlil Gibran My Interest:I have had a life long interest in philosophy and science. My OccupationAt 72 I have done it all in spades! The final objective of my life is to launch The Fifth Revolution which I have outlined in a little book entitled “The Fifth Revolution”. You may access the book online. My Heros:My favorite hero is Don Quixote, just below him comes Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Kahlil Gibran author of "The Prophet" (a book which I believe every human should be forced to read at least once) who wrote in it my favorite quote... "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth." Then Richard Bach, the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. (this is an excellent book I would advise everyone to read). Then in no particular comes President Barrack Obamam, Ayn Rand author of "Atlas Srugged" (another book everyone should read), Winston Churchill, J.F. Kennedy, General Colin Powell and Bill Clinton. Misc:I wasted most of my life trying to fulfill the foolish expectations my parents, my grandparents and the society I grew up in put on me. I am now a recovering alcoholic with nine years of sobriety under my belt; one day at a time! My Objective:It is my intention that the book will start a Great World Wide Revolution and sweep away into the waste bin of history most of the evils that have beset Mankind since pre-humans first walked upright on the savannas of Africa about 2 million years ago. Sounds audacious? Perhaps, but I intend to spend the rest of my life leading the Fifth Revolution. I will not live to see it completed as I do not have much time left. Besides it will take generations of good willed humans to accomplish the tasks I have outlined in my book. I have spent most of my life reading about, researching and thinking about the Purpose of Life. I believe I have discovered something no other human has ever before discovered... the True, scientifically variable Purpose of human life! Since no one else has published anything like my discovery, I have written a little book entitled “The Fifth Revolution” which you can find and read it online. When you have finished, I would very much appreciate it if you would post a review here on The Science Forum. I would like to leave you with a thought as you continue on. Within quite recent history a solitary man of humble origins, took on a seemingly impossible task. Then against overwhelming odds, with the help of only a few friends in the beginning; growing finally into the support of millions of Americans, this man achieved one of the most significant milestones in American or World history. He had himself, a black man in a white society, elected to the highest, most powerful position in the world, the Presidency of the United States of America. President Barrack Obama’s accomplishment has inspired me, also a man of humble origins, to take on this seemingly impossible task. You and I working together, along with the growing support of millions of Americans, can, against overwhelming odds, accomplish this task and finally bring about for the first time in human history, universal “Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward Mankind.” If he could accomplish his impossible task, why can’t we accomplish my impossible task? I invite to your join in my impossible dream! Thanks For reading this far, dr. Richard C.
