[Turtle]

frightful organs' mantras wails,

horrid fates outside on trails,

monstrous turtle's beak impales,

then noshes on the kids' entrails.

streets quiet again

for once they all gathered

in the night.

mid-even's silent streets lights flood,

whilst bloated reptile laps up blood,

and gathering bones to mix with mud,

prepares a plan, a spell, a bud.

It's All Hallow's Eve and the babes are afoot,

all daubled in paint and dabbled in soot,

as parents all drunk in the shadows await,

to steal the kids' candy before it's too late.

Here's Halloween night and the dead have arose,

we'll deign just to feed them as e'ry year goes,

but comes nigh the death stroke twixt nightime and day,

come the last bell of midnight we'll send them away.
