Mpsipos3 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 My name is Michael. I'm an eleven-year-old. 3 years ago, when I was 8 years old, I joined Hypography, then I mysteriously disappeared. A lot has changed since I was gone. My old user name was MichaelMan4444. So, now, I'm 3 years older, and 3 years smarter. Since I was gone, I delved into more Science, more History, more English class (yuck), and the greatest of all, I went from arithmetic, to algebra I, Algebra II, and now trig (yay). I skipped a grade, so that's why I'm eleven and in seventh grade. I have a good memory, so I still remember some of the people here. I look back at my old threads and realized how stupider I was back then. "what is Einstein's theory of relativity?", my "Big bang" post. So yeah, I'm back and better than ever! I hope to hear from everyone, create tons of posts, and Learn, Learn, Learn P.S. I still have a thirst for knowledge! [i always did :)] Quote
pamela Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 hi Michael, i am glad you are back! you sound pretty impressive for an eleven year old. :) Quote
Mpsipos3 Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 Thanks. Like I said, I love to learn. The love to learn is a great thing to have. You can have high potential, but you need to also have a thirst for knowledge and be willing to work towards goals, but, that's just my opinion. In my current grade, we're doing Alg 1, but I already know Alg 1. So, I am relying on background knowledge and "For Dummies" Books to further my knowledge. I like math because everything is more definite than English class and Language Arts, if you know what I mean. 2 + 2 = 4 and will always equal 4. In Language Arts/English Class, "What do you think the theme of the book is?". There are different answers. They say that no matter what you say, you're always right. But in math, there's one answer that is always right, its definitive. Do you see what I mean now? Anyways, books I used: Algebra 1 For Dummies, Algebra 2 For Dummies, Trigonometry for Dummies, and I own Pre-Calculus for Dummies, which I am starting on after Trig. Those books I listed cost $80 USD + tax, so I have been saving up! Also, I have a good memory which is also a good thing to have. Have you ever needed to memorize a really looooooooooong formula. I have, and its hard. But having a good memory makes it easier. [off topic] I want to thank everyone [three years ago] for welcoming me to hypography [thanks guys! :)]. One formula I had to remember is ×=(-b ± √b² - 4ac) / (2a). That formula [The Quadratic Formula] really paid off remembering in Algebra and in solving Trig equations. Hope to hear from everyone soon! Quote
