Moontanman Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I need a pic of Giant Manta Ray down sized to about 6" inside a 55 gallon aquarium apparently swimming around among freshwater fish and plants! Is anyone willing to do this for me? I plan to do a April fool on the monster fish keepers forum with it, maybe a few other forums as well. The pic should get wide spread distribution, as far as I know this hasn't been done, it should fool a few of the faithful fish keepers. Quote
freeztar Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 That's a very time consuming task (cutting out the manta to isolation). The biggest problem would be finding royalty-free photos to use (no copyright, public domain, permitted use, etc.). If you can find those photos (maybe from your own collection?) you are more likely to find someone to do this. Quote
belovelife Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 well my brother could, he has mad skillsbut my kungfu is weak Quote
Moontanman Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 I didn't realize it could be such a problem, I've seen that sort of thing done so much I figured it was easy if you had the right computer set up. Quote

The main problem is liability, not computer technology or know-how.  It would be easy for me to make a remix of a Michael Jackson song and distribute it on the internet, but if MJ found it and found out it was me, he could sue me. The same goes for digital art.  Mind you its highly unlikely that anything would become of it, but I doubt either of us wants to take the chance. This isn't meant to discourage the idea though. It's definitely possible to find free pics online...like these. :) Quote
Boerseun Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Is this roughly what you had in mind? Quote
Moontanman Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 Yeah similar to that, the ray needs to be smaller by at least 1/2 and in a freshwater instead of marine but yeah that's the idea. Quote
Boerseun Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Same ray, freshwater tank. Does this float your boat? Quote
belovelife Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 great photochopbut dang, its kinda weird Quote
Boerseun Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Yeah - a bit too much grass in the last one. I don't know much about aquariums, is that how a freshwater tank would look like? Quote
Moontanman Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 Looks great Boerseun, nice looking freshwater tank too. You did a great job, thank you very much. Can I use this to try and fool a few people? For some reason I can't down load it to my computer from the forum. Can you send it to me in an e-mail? Quote
Moontanman Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 You guys crack me up.:DÂ Glad to be of service :hihi: Quote
freeztar Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Boerseun definitely has better chops than me, but I gave it a quick go anyway. The manta ray needs to have the edges blurred a bit to make it fit in more, but I stuck it under the light to make the reflections look more realistic. It could be fixed up a bit... Boerseun 1 Quote
Moontanman Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 That is cool too freezy, the ray does look a little too sharp and the fin and the wood looks a little funky but all in all it's very cool. I love the Cardinal tetras in teh forground, great touch. With a little bit of work this pic could drive em nuts over at monsterfish forum. Quote
Jay-qu Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Heres another in case you need it :) Boerseun and freeztar 2 Quote
