geordie41 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I'm a newbie here, a retired physician and interested in most scientific threads. I have a small hobby farm and a big interest in permaculture and everything downstream from that. My latest fascination is with biochar as a soil amendment. My farm is home to chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, goats, compost worms, and a couple of large vegetable gardens. The rule is no herbicides, no pesticides, no fertilizer salts; I grind my own supplemental feed from whole grains; all the vertebrates are free-range, and the worms are isolated in four large, raised, wooden bins. I sell worms, worm products, eggs, and veggies through our local farmers market. In this forum I'll be looking especially at any threads having to do wiith sustainable agriculture. Quote
