Greetings,

I had to reinstall my whole OS, because of viruses, now i have to upgrade it.

i am not able to download anything from download.microsoft.com , saying it is not able to establish a connection with the server.

Though i am able to download everything from other sites.

its been like this for 3 days, and surely if it was a server problem, it should have been fixed.

I am running a firefox, internet explorer, and chrome, and all are not able to contact the server.

Any ideas on what should i do?

Regards

Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at download.microsoft.com.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.

* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.

* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

wait... can you visit other websites, like are you posting here from that box?

secondly, have you changed proxy settings recently?

can you ping microsoft.com?

Yes,

i can visit even microsoft's website, but i cant download a damn thing.

No, no proxy settings changed recently, though i dunno as i had to reinstall Windoze.

I thought you were using Ubuntu now?

sadly, i had grown up using windows,

and the change to ubuntu was though, as most of the important softwares for me ( READ : Games and C++) were not working in wubi.

He must've given up the unlimited access to porn with no threat of catching a virus for some game.... Kids today, i tell you ;)

I hate you alexander,

you hit a bulls eye over there...

i mean every damned word except "game" is wrong, ( its games y'know ;) )

though i am making modifications to a game, i need Adobe Flash, and M$ visual studio to do it, which sadly does not work on wubi

sounds like an internet options problem... have you by any chance switched the browser to "secure" mode? if so please add *.microsoft.com to your list of trusted websites, and you may also need to bring the security level down for trusted sites to like a medium low or low... firefox chrome and exploder all obey some of those rules so...

Well i tried those things, by turning the firewall off, reducing the internet security and all damned settings to 0, so that a blind deaf 11 year old kid can easily hack into my system, with his limbs cut off.

but still no avail..

i am beginning to think that their port is blocked from the isp's side.

whaddya think?
