Thunderbird Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 If history had been different, and all the great explores and cartographers originated from Australia, would not all the globes and world maps be upside down today ? Quote
Jway Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Are you saying the flags (all of them) would be upside down too? Quote

Qfwfq Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Why Australia? What about much of Africa and South America? Anyway, just recently I was reading that only a few centuries ago, in Europe, it was common for maps to have south toward the top. Are you saying the flags (all of them) would be upside down too?You forgot the toponyms. Why not them too?C'mon Jway, you know that isn't the point at all...:cup: Quote
maddog Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Thunderbird, I am not sure whether Australia would have other than a South-Top orientation preferenceover North-Top. Though as Qfwfq said this was done about that time. I am Damn surethat all Australian cartographers would have Australia as The Larges Continent on said globe. :hyper: maddog Quote
