Eric Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 I've been recommended to try this forum. I tend to concentrate on issues around LHC and whether we can be assured about it's safety. I look forward discussion. Thankyou Quote
Moontanman Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Welcome Eric, we've pretty much hashed out the safety factor of the LHC. Lots of other things to discuss and you are welcome to join in the fun. Quote
Eric Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 Greetings pamela Mootanman - I'll have a look at whats on the CERN collider debates here. hashed out = covered, it seems. A new phrase for me, but seems like a good one. Quote

A new phrase for me, but seems like a good one. Welcome, Eric! :) Yes, hashed out = covered, but it also implies that any objections or issues have been solved. In the case of the LHC, we have determined that it poses no threat to humanity's, or the world's, safety. Here's some threads about the LHC: http://hypography.com/forums/physics-and-mathematics/15351-cern-and-black-hole.htmlhttp://hypography.com/forums/engineering-and-applied-science/16077-large-hadron-collider.html?highlight=large+hadron+colliderhttp://hypography.com/forums/physics-and-mathematics/16080-woo-hoo-lhc-is-working.html?highlight=large+hadron+collider Quote
Eric Posted June 19, 2009 Author Report Posted June 19, 2009 yes freeztar. Its useful to know the threads. Whether that's what Mootanman meant I don't know, but you'll understand that I may not agree with assurances. Quote
